Headless body of man found near Ajmer Puliya in Jaipur | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A headless body of an unidentified man in a mutilated condition was discovered at an abandoned building near Ajmer Puliya under the Vidhayakpuri police station area of the city.
SHO (Vidhayakpuri) Rajesh Gautam said that the primary investigation suggests that the body is about three months old.
“We suspect that some animals may have mauled some parts of the deceased’s body,” he said.
A team of forensic experts led by senior scientific officer Abhay Pratap Singh collected samples from the scene.
The Jaipur police examined all CCTVs around Ajmer Puliya but could not find any movement that could indicate the deceased’s last movement.
The police said that the body was fast decomposing, and a stench was coming from it. “It appears that the deceased was a drifter and stayed here for temporary shelter. The area where he was found dead is frequented by addicts and homeless people,” said an official.
The city police also said that they could not identify the deceased because his face could be recognized. “We suspect that the man died here due to some reason and animals mauled his body,” the official added.
The police said that the matter came to light when a rag picker discovered the body of the deceased. “Some body parts were also found to be missing. We have begun our investigation into the case. It could not be ascertained if he died for natural reasons or whether it was a violent death,” the official said.
The Jaipur police said that the entire scene was closely examined but they did not find the belongings of the deceased. “There were a lot of old liquor bottles. But we did not find any document that could help us identify the deceased in any manner,” the official said, adding that the body has been shifted to the mortuary.
