Nsui Activists Stir Outside V-c Office | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Students associated with the National Students Union of India (NSUI) protested outside the University of Rajasthan’s vice-chancellor’s secretariat on Friday and demanded to hoist the tricolor at the office, against the demonstration held by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at the campus on Thursday.
The protest was held amid heavy police deployment at the campus as minor clashes broke out between students and the police officials. The NSUI members tried to hoist the tricolor on the V-C’s office as ABVP students had hoisted the flag of the student body there.
The students on Friday raised slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai outside the V-C’s office.
Ramesh Bhatti, state spokesperson for NSUI, said, “On Friday, we went to the vice chancellor’s office and wanted to hoist the tricolor at the same spot where ABVP had hoisted a saffron flag. It is an educational institute where party flags must not be hoisted, and only the national flag must have a place. We have submitted a memorandum to the vice chancellor requesting appropriate action and suspension of students who are found guilty of hoisting a political flag”.
The NSUI workers demanded that a committee must be formed to conduct an inquiry into the incident and action must be taken within one week, otherwise NSUI will intensify the protest and university administration will be responsible for it.
