Jaipur: The Vaishali Nagar police arrested a 25-year-old suspect for allegedly kidnapping and demanding extortion from a businessman.
The accused has been identified as Lokendra Singh alias Lucky.
The incident took place on July 1 when victim Sandeep Singh was sitting in his car outside his shop in Khatipura. Lokendra and his aides waylaid the victim and demanded Rs 2 crore.
The police were alerted about the incident and they promptly arrested Lokendra. “The accused is a history-sheeter and a native of Sikar’s Ranoli area. His brother also has a criminal record,” said an official. Recently, Lokendra was apprehended by Kardhani police station which found that he was connected with Rohit Godara gang. The police have booked the accused for kidnapping, extortion and criminal intimidation. tnn
