Notice Issued: Notice issued to Sanchore’s BSP candidate | Jaipur News

Jaipur/Alwar: Sanchore SDM and returning officer Badrinarayan Vishnoi on Thursday issued a notice for alleged violation of model code of conduct (MCC) to the BSP candidate from Sanchoreassembly constituency, Shamsher Ali Syed, after he was seen distributing 200 and 500-rupee notes to girls who welcomed him at a public meeting held on Wednesday (November 15) at Dhingpura village in Nehar area of Sanchore, Jalore.The incident was captured in a video which went viral on Wednesday. The returning officer appointed assistant returning officer (ARO) of Sanchore constituency, Ratanlal Bhawani, as the investigating officer and instructed him to probe the matter. Bhawani was asked to submit a report within 24 hours. It was seen that a group of girls welcomed the candidate with clay urns on their heads.
“A video went viral on social media in which he (Samsher Ali) was seen distributing money at a public meeting. I issued a notice seeking an explanation from the BSP candidate. Shamsher Ali has been asked to reply to the notice within 24 hours,” said Vishnoi.
“The notice has been issued to the candidate under section 123 (1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and Section 171 (B) of IPC,” he added. After the video went viral, Congress, BJP and other political parties alleged distribution of money by the candidate and demanded action against him. In another incident, Tijara’s BJP candidate Baba Balaknath was issued a notice for alleged violation of MCC by Tijara returning officer and SDM Anoop Singh on Tuesday. The notice was issued to Balaknath for having compared the election in Tijara to the India-Pakistan semi-final match while addressing people near Suraj Cinema and residential society of Tapukada. tnn

The complaint leading to the FIR was filed by the Sehore Flying Squad team. The timing of the incident, just before the elections, has sparked debate. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Mirchi Baba’s rival, has not yet commented on the matter. Congress has fielded Vikram Mastal as its candidate.
EC issues notice to Arvind Kejriwal, Priyanka Gandhi over remarks on PM Modi
The Election Commission has issued a show-cause notice to Arvind Kejriwal and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for allegedly making disparaging and unverified remarks against PM Narendra Modi. The notice came after the BJP filed a complaint regarding posts made on social media that portrayed PM Modi in a defamatory manner. The EC has asked Kejriwal and Gandhi Vadra to explain their statements and allegations and show cause why appropriate action should not be taken against them. Assembly elections are currently being held in five states.
