Silver: Police In Banswara Confiscate Gold, Silver Jewellery Worth ₹14cr | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Danpur police station in Banswara on Saturday confiscated gold and silver worth Rs 14 crore during a check ahead of the Assembly elections.
A vehicle travelling from Ratlam towards Banswara was searched, resulting in the discovery of approximately 17.93 kilogram of gold and 49.83 kilogram of silver. The estimated value of this seizure is nearly 14 crore.
A police official said the checking of vehicles entering Barighata check-post in Danpur was in progress when a Bolero pick-up arrived from Ratlam. When the vehicle was stopped and inspected, a sealed cabin was found at the back door of the vehicle. Inside the front cabin were three individuals.
They were identified as Shankarlal, Vijay Singh and Ajaypal Yadav.
A police official said, “As it’s easy to reach Kota directly from Ratlam, their route raised suspicion. When further probed about the items loaded in the van, Vijay was unable to provide satisfactory answer. However, after some reassurance, Vijay mentioned supplying jewellery to a jeweller in Banswara, Udaipur, and Kota. Subsequently, the van, along with its occupants, was taken to the Danpur police station.”
