Following the incident, internet services remained suspended in most of the district except Chitalwana and Sanchore areas on Thursday. Police arrested accused Shankla Ram Bheel and recovered the axe used for the murder. Police said there was a personal dispute between Bheel and the victim Kishore Singh. Villagers protested the murder and demanded the arrest of the whole family of the accused.
The murder was not pre-planned and the accused did it in a fit of rage since the deceased used to abuse the family of the accused daily in an inebriated condition, police said. The incident took place on Wednesday evening when Kishore Singh was walking towards the bus stand area of Padardi village. TNN

Later, the accused brandished the severed head before the villagers and threw it some 100 metres away and fled, police said. “We detained the accused late Wednesday evening and arrested him on Thursday after interrogation. We have recovered the bloodstained axe used for the murder,” Kang said. Officers said Kishore had six cases of burglary against him at various police stations.
