Bharatpur dist’s Meo-dominated police station areas on high alert | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: High alert was sounded by the Bharatpur police on Monday following violence at the Nuh-Mewat area in Haryana. Extra police have been deployed at Gopalgarh, Kaman, Pahari, Jurhera, Kaithwara and Khol police stations and nearby areas where Meo community has a sizeable population.

Also, police teams in these police station areas have been asked to put up pickets and conduct night patrolling to check vehicles with Haryana registration numbers entering Bharatpur.
Violence was witnessed at Nuh-Mewat area during a procession by a Hindu outfit where stones were also pelted on Monday.

“We are on alert mode. I have instructed the station house officers of Gopalgarh, Kaman, Pahari, Jurhera, Kaithwara and Khoh police station areas to be extra vigilant and ensure that no commotion should take place in these areas,” Mridul Kachawa, superintendent of police, Bharatpur told TOI. “Since Nuh-Mewat is merely 35-40 kms from Gopalgarh, the entry and exit from Gopalgarh will be checked properly,” he added.
Also, Bharatpur police is keeping an eye on social media accounts. They have warned people, especially rumour-mongers to stay away from spreading any fake information. “Our cyber team is working on it. Strict action will be taken if any inflammatory, derogatory or fake remarks or information is passed via any account,” he said.
