Jaipur: The Rajasthan police is constituting “quick investigation disposal teams” for each district to ensure swift completion of investigations. DIG (crime) Rahul Prakash said these teams will be headed by an additional SP-rank officer.
“These teams will work in two shifts round the clock. They will be among the first responders in cases of heinous offences. Their task will include the selection of crucial evidence, and preserving evidence as per the guidelines,” Prakash said.
The teams will be specially trained with modern equipment and will work closely with the forensics unit and the modus operandi branch (MOB) for investigation, he said. Sources said the teams will provide assistance to the investigation officer (IO) assigned by the police station. tnn
