Jaipur: A BJP worker in Jhadol in Udaipur was brutally killed on the day of assembly elections, with his mutilated body recovered Sunday.
Kanti Lal, who was campaigning for party candidate from Jhadol, Babulal Kharadi, was last seen bringing voters from his village to the polling booth on Saturday.
As Kanti Lal did not return home at night, his son Sunil went out in search of him on Sunday morning, and found his body barely 300 metres from their home, police said.
His head had been crushed with a stone and there were injury marks all over the body, police added. The face had been so badly smashed that it was not recognisable. Sunil identified his father from his clothes, said a police officer.
Locals alleged that Kanti Lal had been murdered by the workers of other parties.
