Ironman: Col Lamba Completes Ironman Triathlon | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Colonel Jangvir Lamba, 51-year-old Army officer recently participated and completed Ironman Triathlon, Asia Pacific Championship, held in Queensland, Australia.
The triathlon comprises three consecutive events; 3.8km open water swim, 180km cycling and 42.2km marathon all to be completed in a day and in the same sequence. The maximum time limit for competitors to complete the triathlon was 16 and half hours and to earn the title of “Ironman”. Lamba completed the full Ironman in 15 hours and 24 minutes.
Over 1,500 athletes participated in the event, which is considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world, and Col Lamba was the only Indian in it. Out of the 50 Ironman Series Triathlons held globally, Asia Pacific Championship Cairns was the highest rated. TNN
