Rajinikanth has set the box office on fire with his film Jailer. The film has grossed more than Rs 400 crore worldwide in just 8 days of its release. The actor who took off to the Himalayas for a spiritual trip is now back to his base and talks have already begun on his next.

His next, which is referred to as Thalaivar170, will see him play a cop once again. The film is to be directed by TJ Gnanavel who last directed Suriya in Jai Bhim.The film is expected to go on floors in the month of September. After giving mind blowing music for Jailer, Anirudh has been roped in for this film as well.
Now it is being said that none other than Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in by the makers to be part of the film. Sources close to the production tell ETimes that Big B will be playing the antagonist in the film leading to a clash between Thalaiva and Amitabh Bachchan. If this does go through then the two iconic superstars will be collaborating after a gap of 32 years. They last acted together in Mukul S Anand’s Hum.
Amitabh Bachchan seems to be collaborating with his old pals one after another starting with Kamal Haasan who joined the team of Kalki 2898 AD, and now Rajinikanth.
