Jaipur: An ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) jawan, identified as Manoj Vishwas from West Bengal, attempted suicide while on election duty in Jaipur.
The incident occurred on Monday in the Kanota police station area, leading to the soldier being admitted to a private hospital in Kanota in critical condition. After the attempted suicide, the constable received immediate first aid at the private hospital, from where he was referred to SMS Hospital for further medical attention.
The jawan took such drastic step after a conversation with his family over the phone in the morning.
The specifics of the conversation remain undisclosed, and authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the distressing event.
A police official said, “The mobile phone of deceased Manoj is being investigated. At the same time, the soldiers living with Manoj are also being interrogated. regarding the incident. Manoj and his companions were staying at Anand College in Kanota.” TNN
