JAIPUR: A family court in Jaipur granted divorce to a woman after her husband underwent sex change operation. The court gave the verdict on the basis of a mutual consent between the 45-year-old husband from Jodhpur and his wife, who hails from Jaipur.
The couple had filed for divorce in May last year by mutual consent after living together for almost 16 years. As per the settlement deed of the divorce, there is no dispute between them regarding property, maintenance, and dowry.
They mentioned in the application that they had been living separately since March 2017 as the marital relationship between them ended due to the husband undergoing gender change surgery. Approving the divorce application of the husband and wife, the court issued a decree order of divorce.
