Jajra: Cops Lathicharge Students At Ru During Abvp Leader’s Union Office Inauguration | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Rajasthan police on Tuesday resorted to mild lathicharge on students during the inauguration ceremony of students’ union office of RU general secretary Arvind Jajra from ABVP.
A cultural programme was held at the varsity’s Ghumar ground after the inauguration of the office where Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was performing. Hundreds of students who had gathered there tried to break the barricades and move towards the stage. When it got difficult to manage the crowd, police resorted to lathicharge.
Earlier during the day, BJP’s state general secretary Chandrashekhar and JMC-Greater mayor Somya Gurjar inaugurated the students’ union office.
Speaking on the occasion, Jajra said, “I took admission in this university in 2014 and during elections, a 22-year-old boy was kneeling and asking for votes. Before elections, when my form was rejected, I had tears and today also I have tears, but these are tears of joy. I will continue to work for students and be there for them 365 days.”
Chandrashekhar said, “Student unions are the future of the country. They have the potential to reach the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha. AVBP always raises students’ issues and works till the issues are solved completely.”
He said many a times, administration in the university is upset with ABVP workers because they continuously raise students’ issues and protest, but “the parishad will continue to do so.”
