Jhotwara Road Over Bridge: Udh Min Inaugurates Part Of Jhotwara Rob |

Jaipur: Urban development and housing (UDH) minister Shanti Dhariwal on Thursday virtually inaugurated one section of the Jhotwara Road Over Bridge (ROB), named as Rao Shekhaji ROB, built at a cost of Rs 167 crore.
The minister said that at present 83% of the project work is complete from Niwaru T-Junction to Ambabari. The remaining work will soon be completed.
Dhariwal said that Rao Shekhaji ROB was constructed from Panchayat Bhawan till Ambabari.
“As the existing bridge meant for commuting in Jhotwara and surrounding areas is not very wide, traffic jams are frequent here. The residents had demanded a new ROB. This bridge is on Kalwar Road, which is a state highway and connects Jaipur to many towns. The new bridge will help ease the traffic woes of around 10 lakh people living in the area,” said Dhariwal. The minister added that for the ROB’s construction around 642 houses/shops were affected, the owners of these have been rehabilitated as per mutual agreement. For rehabilitation, plots were allotted by creating “Jyotiba Phule Retail Scheme” on Niwaru Road and residential plots were allotted in Hathauj Kardhani Extension Scheme. Joga Ram, JDA commissioner said, “In order to solve the traffic problem and for smooth commute during festivals and the upcoming assembly elections, it is important to ease the traffic in this part of the project. Now, the remaining part of the project can be completed at a faster pace.”
