Jaipur: The Jaipur police on Friday will divert traffic on JLN Marg as part of its ongoing drills to handle traffic diversions during, medical, fire and other emergency situations.
Additional commissioner of police (law and order) Kunwar Rashtradeep said that the city police are holding drills to quickly organise traffic diversions and handle resulting vehicular movement in a seamless manner at a short notice.
As per the traffic police, the traffic will be diverted from 9 am to 11 am, and then from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday.
The police said that traffic will be diverted from Gandhi Circle to the Bajaj Nagar intersection. As per the traffic route released on Thursday, the police teams will make alternative arrangements through nearby roads.
“Vehicles moving through Gandhi Circle to Bajaj Nagar will pass through Gandhi Nagar intersection, Tonk Road, Royalty circle, and Jhalana,” said an official.
Rashtradeep said that these practices will also be held at other places in the city.
Police said that these drills will be held at other places soon. “These drills will help us increase our readiness to handle traffic and law and order situations promptly,” an official said, adding different police units will take part in the test.
