Jmc-g Seeks E-vehicles For Waste Collection | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Councillors from JMC-Greater are now demanding electric waste collection vehicles to ease the restriction of kilometres per vehicle.
Councillors said that at present waste collection vehicles have a limit of 30km per day due to which these vehicles complete only one or two rounds of the wards and are not able to collect all the waste generated.
Paras Jain, a councillor from Sanganer zone, said, “The problem of waste collection in JMC-Greater can be easily solved if all the councillors are given one electric waste collection vehicle. The vehicle can be charged at the councillor’s office in every ward, and it can make multiple rounds to collect both household and commercial waste. With this, there would be no restriction on number of kilometres for a particular day.”
Jain said that the councillors have written to the authorities at the corporation but have not received any response so far.
Mahendra Sonkhiya, another councillor from Sanganer zone, said, “It is an open truth that several small open depots for dumping waste have come up in every ward and zone. All the corruption related to waste collection can be solved with these electric vehicles, but no one wants to take any action. If this is done, then the councillor itself will be responsible for the waste collection process and be answerable to residents.” JMC-G is focusing on door-to-door waste collection.
