Job Hunting: Hc Takes Note Of Traffic Jam At Statue Circle Due To Bjp Protest | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Rajasthan high court has taken suo motu cognizance of the traffic jam caused by the BJP protest held on Tuesday. The court has asked the city police how it could allow people to protest at the busy Statue Circle, much to the inconvenience of the public. Many of the Centre and government buildings, including the secretariat, as well as the Rajasthan high court is located near the Statue Circle, which is the centre of the city.

The single bench of Justice Samir Jain taking suo mottu cognizance of the whole matter, asked why not an FIR be lodged against officials who gave permission for the rally by disobeying the court order. Senior officers of Jaipur Police Commissionerate were present during the hearing.
During the last assembly session also, private hospitals and doctors protesting the RTH bill also held massive protests at the Statute Circle, causing inconvenience to the common man.

On court summons, the ACP appeared in the court at 2pm and the court asked the government to explain by Thursday on what basis the government allowed the rally at Statue Circle.
Expressing displeasure in the whole matter, the High Court said that if the police had given permission for the rally, then why didn’t they make alternative arrangements for traffic? Why were the roads blocked?
The court said that the Supreme Court has made it clear in its 2020 order that the roads cannot be blocked under any circumstances due to political rallies.
If permission was to be given for dharna, it should have been outside the city so that the common man faces the least trouble, the court said.
During the hearing, Additional Commissioner of Police Rahul Prakash, DCP Traffic Prahlad Krishnan, DCP South Yogesh Goyal and IPS Kunwar Rashtradeep along with other officers of the Commissionerate were present during the hearing.
