Judicial Custody: Monu Remanded In Custody For 15 Days |

Jaipur: A court in Deeg remanded arrested Bajrang Dal member and self-styled cow vigilante Mohit, alias Monu Manesar, to 15 days in judicial custody on Thursday in connection with the killing of two Muslim men from the state — Junaid and Nasir — whose charred bodies were found in Haryana’s Bhiwani district in February.
Monu Manesar appeared before court over a video link from Mathura Gate police station due to security concerns. He will be shifted to Sewar Jail in Bharatpur, considered one of the most secure prisons in the region.
“The two-day police remand of Monu Manesar ended Thursday. He was produced in court from where he was sent to 15 days’ judicial custody,” a senior police officer said.
The victim Junaid’s widow, Sajida, demanded that Manesar receive the “death sentence” (if proved guilty). “I have six children. After my husband’s death, there has been a daily struggle for survival. Manesar should be given strict punishment to set an example so that other families do not suffer,” she said.
Manesar had been arrested by the Nuh police on September 12 for an alleged provocative post on a social media platform ahead of a Hindu outfit’s “Jalabhishek Yatra” on August 28. The court had remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days in this case but the Rajasthan police arrested him in connection with the Nasir-Junaid murder case and took him away on transit remand.
