Udaipur accounts for 47% corona deaths in Rajasthan over last 27 days | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A 16-year-old boy has died of Covid in Udaipur while undergoing treatment at MB Hospital. Health department’s report issued on Tuesday said it was the 753 Covid death in Udaipur so far. Out of 32 deaths reported in the state due to Covid in July, 15 were in Udaipur.
The lake city has reported 47% of the pandemic deaths in the state in July, which is a major cause of concern for state health authorities, who are tirelessly working to contain the spread of the virus.
While Jaipur, which remained the worst Covid-hit, has not reported even a single death in July, deaths in Udaipur are continuously happening even thougb the second wave has slowed down significantly.
Sources said the boy was diagnosed with Covid on July 22 and when his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to MB Hospital. The health department collected samples from people in contact with him and found that five persons had been infected.
In the last 24 hours, 15 persons tested positive for Covid, taking the overall tally to 9,53,575.
Districts which reported new cases are Udaipur (5), Jaipur (3), Ajmer (2), Barmer (2),Hanumangarh (1), Sriganganagar (1) and Jodhpur (1). Active cases in the state have gone down below 300 as 34 more persons recovered from the virus taking the total recovered cases to 9,44,344.
Ten districts currently do not have any Covid active cases including Kota, Pratapgarh, Sirohi, Karauli, Jhunjhunu, Jhalawar, Jalore, Dholpur, Dausa and Bundi, while rest of the 23 districts have 278 active cases, among those, Jaipur has 80, the highest in the state.
