Kejri Pitches Aap As ‘honest Party’, Slams ‘gehlot-raje Links’ | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday launched its election campaign in poll-bound Rajasthan, positioning itself as an “honest party” and accusing both BJP and Congress of looting the state alternately.
Delhi CM and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, accompanied by Punjab CM Bhagwant Maan, led the party’s Tiranga Yatra in Jaipur and promised to bring development to Rajasthan after coming to power in the Assembly elections due by the yearend.
“Both Congress and BJP have alternately worked to loot the state. This time, vote for honest party, form AAP government as we do not know politics. We know how to build good schools, construct roads, provide water, give free electricity and free health treatment,” said Kejriwal in his address to a gathering in the roadshow, which passed through several areas in the state capital, including Sanganeri Gate and Ajmeri Gate.
Kejriwal said since Congress ruled Rajasthan for 48 years and BJP for 18 years, the two parties cannot claim they were not given chances. “If you want filth, drama, corruption and politics, then vote for BJP and Congress. AAP leaders do not know these,” he said.
Targeting Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former CM Vasundhara Raje of BJP, the Delhi CM said, “I have heard that Vasundhara Raje and Ashok Gehlot get along very well. If there is a slight crisis on Ashok Gehlot’s government, then former CM Vasundhara Raje makes the whole BJP stand for him. There was talk some time ago that the BJP top brass was removing Vasundhara Raje. Then Ashok Gehlot made the entire Congress stand for her. They are one party… Vasundhara Raje-Ashok Gehlot party.”
Addressing the rally, Punjab CM Bhagwant Maan said the people of Rajasthan are ready to sweep a broom (AAP’s election symbol) as it is a better option than BJP and Congress who he said had “worked to loot the state”.
“BJP and Congress are afraid of AAP spreading across the country as this party’s governments have made good schools and hospitals. They know that when poor children become educated and vote with conscience, they will not vote for BJP and Congress. So the man (Manish Sisodia) who built schools was put in the jail,” said Maan.
