Khachariyawas: Khachariyawas Scolds Jmc-h Officials, Mayor Over Laxity In Cleanliness, Issuing Of Land Leases | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas on Wednesday scolded senior officials of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC)- Heritage, including the mayor, commissioner, additional commissioner, for laxity in working on various issues in the city. The minister was addressing councillors and residents at an event on launching cloth bags to be distributed across different zones of JMC-Heritage to reduce use of plastic.
Khachariyawas said that cloth bags are being launched today (Wednesday), but officials have been going and issuing challans to traders, without proper inspections or running any awareness campaigns. The minister further said that the commissioner and officials are never available for councillors or public and do not even respond to calls.
“The municipal corporation is known for maintaining cleanliness in the city but no work is being done by the corporation and hence residents are unhappy. We helped councillors win the elections and then elected a mayor, but no work is being done. When was the last time when the mayor, all councillors and officials sat together for a meeting? This corporation has a board of the same party as the state government, then work should take place easily. Officials also do not go on ground for inspections. From now, I will take meetings every week to monitor progress of different projects,” he said.
