Jaipur: BJP’s national secretary Alka Gurjar and former chairperson of Women’s Commission Suman Sharma in a press conference on Monday alleged harassment of the family of gang-rape and murder victim in Bhilwara. “We are getting reports that police harassed the family to the extent that father and grandfather attempted self-immolation by jumping on to the pyre during the last rites of the deceased,” said Gurjar. She accused Gehlot of making a statement that police cannot be deployed at every housen. “The statement is highly condemnable. It shows that Gehlot cannot reduce the law-and-order situation in the state,” said Gurjar. TNN
