Kota Coaching Institute Questioned Over Suicide | Jaipur News

Kota/Jaipur: Two days after 20-year-old Faureed Hussain was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his rented room in Kota, the district administration on Wednesday issued notice to the coaching institute where he studied seeking answers within three days on whether the institute’s experts had ever counselled Hussain and what was the status of his attendance.
“The notice also asked if the deceased showed any signs of stress,” said an official, requesting anonymity.
TOI called Kota DM MP Meena for his response, but he did not respond.
Hussain, a resident of West Bengal, had come to Kota earlier this year to take coaching for NEET.
The Dadabari police station in Kota has meanwhile questioned Hussain’s landlord, Ghafoor Khan, and Hussain’s friends. “Khan said that he never felt that the deceased was depressed due to his studies. However, Hussain’s friends said that he had told them he was unable to understand his studies,” said a police officer.
The police report says that Hussain was last seen on November 27 when he came down to fetch water from his room on the first floor at the house in Waqf Nagar.
“The next day, two other students living on rent informed the house owner that Hussain was not opening the door of his room. When they all rushed to look into the room from the window, they saw him hanging from the ceiling fan,” said the police officer.
Dadabari police station said that no suspicion has been expressed yet by the family members of the deceased. After a postmortem by the medical team, the body was handed over to the family members.
Hussain’s father, Kalimuddin Hossain, told the media in Kota that he spoke to his son on November 27 evening and his son did not sound nervous.
In September this year, the state government released guidelines for coaching institutes, preventing them from releasing class test results, separating batches on the basis of performance, and making counselling mandatory.

Kota student left no suicide note, say cops
A 20-year-old NEET aspirant named Faureed Hussain from West Bengal hanged himself in Kota, adding to the alarming number of coaching student suicides in the city. This year, Kota has witnessed 25 student suicides, the highest in nine years. Faureed had been preparing for the medical entrance exam at a coaching institute in Kota. No suicide note was found, and the reason behind his extreme step remains unknown. The administration has introduced measures to address the issue after six student suicides in August alone.
