Kota Woman Ends Life, Hubby & Lover Booked | Jaipur News

Kota: A 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her in-laws’ house in Railway Colony police station area of Kota city late on Thursday night.
The Ahmedabad-based parents of the deceased, Reena, alleged that she was fed up with harassment by her in-laws’ for dowry and her husband’s illicit relation. Based on their complaint, police lodged a case of dowry and abetment of suicide against her husband, Karan Singh, and his girlfriend. The body was handed over to her parents after an autopsy by a medical board on Friday.
Muninder Singh, the SHO of Railway Colony police station, said Reena allegedly committed suicide in her in-laws’ house in Purohitji Ki Tapri area. “A native of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Reena had fallen in love and married Karan Singh around five years ago when he was working with a private company in Ahmedabad. The couple have a three-year-old child,” he added.
Reena’s parents, who reached Kota on Friday, alleged that Karan Singh had been torturing her for dowry and had earlier demanded Rs 2 lakh. They told police that he would often beat her mercilessly. They also alleged that Karan had entered into an illicit relation with another woman, identified as Puja Rathore, and that the two were constantly harassing Reena.
Police lodged a case under Sections 498 (A), 306 and 304 (B) of IPC against Karan Singh and Puja Rathore and began investigations.
Meanwhile, a voice clip of purportedly recorded by Reena went viral on social media, in which she is heard narrating the harassment she was undergoing. She was not allowed to visit her parents’ home in Ahmedabad ever since she married Karan and when her parents visited Kota, she was not left alone in their company, alleged her father.
