Kumar Sanu reveals ‘khadoos’ Anu Malik never encouraged singers as he calls Chura Ke Dil Mera remake ‘gobar’ | Hindi Movie News

Singer Kumar Sanu expressed his unhappiness over the remake of his popular 90s song Chura Ke Dil Mera, which was remixed by the original music composer Anu Malik and sung by Benny Dayal and Anmol Malik for Priyadarshan’s 2021 film Hungama 2.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Kumar Sanu slammed the producer and director saying that they think they are very intelligent as they picked Chura Ke Dil Mera to remix, ‘aur fir usko gobar kar diya (and then ruined it).’ “Ab vo director aur producer kitna gobbar hai, socho (Now think how bad is that director and producer),” he said.
He added that their capacity is just this much and they can only spoil it and they can never make it better. He opined if there was so much need then they could’ve done the music arrangement properly and asked the original singers to sing. The impact that will create will be 100 times more since even our fan following will listen to it.
“Aapka idhar (brain) gobar hai, aap nai karoge. Thanks for this gobar producer and gobar director, I don’t bother about it, I don’t like them,” Kumar Sanu said.

He then went on to talk about Anu Malik and revealed that he never encouraged singers and called him ‘thoda khadoos type.’ Recalling his experience of recording the song with the music director, Kumar Sanu said Anu Malik would say, ‘Kya ho gaya tere gale mein aaj, mazaa nahi aaya (What happened to your throat, I didn’t enjoy it).’
The singer said that he would get scared and would tell him to try once more and he would say, ‘Do whatever you want to do.’ After the recording, he said, ‘Chi, Chi, kya gaaya,’ and left the room. Sanu was confused since the director was happy. “After a while, he returned and hugged and kissed me because he was happy with the song,” he shared.
