Leggie Bishnoi Leaves Rajasthan For Gujarat | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Made to warm the benches for much of the Ranji Trophy season last year, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has decided to switch from Rajasthan to Gujarat for the upcoming domestic season.
Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) secretary Bhawani Singh Samota confirmed the move. “RCA gave him the NoC a few days back. We did not want him to leave Rajasthan, but he insisted that there are better opportunities for him in Gujarat,” the RCA secretary told TOI.
Bishnoi is currently in Ahmedabad attending Gujarat’s preparatory camp for the 2023-24 season.
Bishnoi, who represents Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL, posted a story on Instagram on Monday in which he can be seen wearing a Gujarat Cricket Association’s jersey with the caption, ‘New beginnings’.
Bishnoi, who made his first-class debut last year, was ignored by the Rajasthan management because they considered him a “shorter-format player”. He was given only one game, in which he took two wickets against Puducherry. The 22-year-old from Jodhpur made his List ‘A’ debut in 2019 and made his international debut in February 2022 against West Indies in the T20 format.
Moreover, Bishnoi played his maiden ODI against South Africa ahead of the T20 World Cup last year. He was also a part of the Indian team for the 2022 Asia Cup but was not picked for the T20 World Cup.
