Leopards Electrocuted: Four leopards electrocuted in Bundi district Jaipur | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Four leopards, including a male, female, and two cubs, were electrocuted in the Dasaliya block of the Dabi forest range in the Bundi district after coming into contact with a 33 KV power line wire that had fallen to the ground. Earlier, a cow had been electrocuted in the forest. Attracted by the scent, the big cats approached to feed on it but succumbed after touching the live wire.
DFO Om Prakash Jangid said, “It’s a very dense forest.After the owner went in search of his cow, he discovered the leopard carcasses as well. The incident appears to be two days old.” Officials said the post-mortems will be conducted on the big cats, and their cremation will take place within the range.
Environmentalist Tapeshwar Singh emphasised, “The incident should be investigated. Appropriate measures should be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.” Authorities clarified that the 33 KV lines are feeder lines. TNN
