Kota: Farmer Commits Suicide In Bundi Due To Crop Damage | Jaipur News

KOTA: Shocked to see damaged wheat crop due to rain and hail storm, a 60-year-old farmer allegedly consumed poisonous substance in his agriculture field in Bajad village under Talera police station of Bundi district on Saturday noon. The farmer was rushed to MBS hospital in Kota, where he succumbed to death during treatment early Sunday morning.
Police lodged a case of unnatural death under section 174 of Cr.P.C. and handed over the body to family members after a postmortem. The deceased farmer was identified as Prathviraj Bairwa (60), a resident of Bajad village.
Notably, rains accompanied by hail have been lashing parts of Kota, Bundi and Jhalawar districts for the last 3-4 days at intervals and have caused severe damage to wheat, gram and coriander and other crops in the field.
The deceased farmer on Saturday noon had gone to his agriculture field to take stock of the wheat crop over 3 bigha of land, where he allegedly consumed poisonous substance after noticing the crop, damaged by rain and hail storm.
“The farmer is said to have failed to bear the loss of crops,” said circle officer of the area, DSP Ankit Jain.
