Jaisalmer Ranks No. 2 Out Of 112 Aspirational Districts In Country | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: The desert district of Jaisalmer has emerged second in the country in the aspirational districts programme, as per the latest ranking of Niti Aayog.
Among the 112 districts under the programme in the country, Jaisalmer topped under basic infrastructure with a score of 62.4, said district collector Tina Dabi.
The district ranked 3rd in health and nutrition with a score of 76.7, she added.
“Under this programme, work has been done on five domains: health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, skill development and basic infrastructure. Jaisalmer’s delta composite score of November 2022 has jumped to 56.5 from 53.8 in October, and the district has bagged the second rank in the whole country. It is a matter of pride for the district,” said Dabi.
Jaisalmer has improved in percentage coverages of establishment of common service centres at the gram panchayat level from 76% to 100%. Percentage of pucca houses constructed for the homeless or those having just one room with kuchha wall and roof or those with a two-room dwelling with kuchha wall and roof has grown to 75.54% from 60.15%.
Jaisalmer, however, ranked 13th in agriculture and water resources with a score of 21.8.
“We have improved in the number of animals vaccinated, which has grown from 10,100 to 36,2450. The district ranks 17 in education with a score of 67.3 and ranks 64th in financial inclusion and skill development with a score of 27.5,” added Dabi.
Jharkhand’s Lohardaga district has been the overall first rank.
