Police Exchange Fire With Shooters Trying To Escape Custody At Goner Road, 3 Hurt | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Three suspects of the Days Hotel firing case were injured in an alleged shootout with Jaipur police’s crime branch along Goner Road on Tuesday morning when the trio shot at cops after snatching a constable’s firearm.
The incident took place shortly after 7.30 am when ACP Chiranji Lal Meena and Khalil Ahmed were transporting the three suspects, including a 15-year-old boy, to Jaipur from Agra in two separate cars. Additional commissioner of police (crime) Ajay Pal Lamba said the accused identified as Pradeep Shukla (21), Rishab Rajwar (18) and the minor are undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital.

Capture (23)

According to sources, Shukla has been admitted to the ICU and his condition remains critical. The trio were rounded up in Agra on Monday night in a joint operation with local police following intelligence input from Bikaner police and the cyber forensic team’s technical report about the possible whereabouts of the shooters. A crime branch team had plucked out blurry pictures showing the faces of three shooters from a CCTV, minutes after they fired over 17 rounds at the Days Hotel on Saturday night.
“The police teams were following up on leads on suspects when Bikaner police informed us that one of the fleeing accused is a minor and might be hiding in Agra,” Lamba said.
Police discovered that the minor was released from a correction home on January 25. “We shared information with the Agra police’s DCP Somendra Meena. He immediately moved his team. From Jaipur, we dispatched a team under a senior ACP for Agra,” Lamba said.
Police detained Rishab, Pradeep and the minor from the same location in Agra. “The accused told us they handed over the guns to another accused, Bhupendra Gurjar. Our teams discovered that Bhupendra is also a resident of Agra. So, we raided his hideout and recovered firearms from him,” Lamba said, adding that Agra police on Monday arrested Bhupendra in an arms Act case.
Jaipur police discovered that the entire conspiracy was hatched by fugitive gangster Ritik Thakurani alias Ritik Boxer. He sent three shooters to Jaipur to fire at Days Hotel to extort a sum of Rs 1 crore from the hotel owner.
