Man beaten to death outside Jagatpura railway station | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: An altercation over a train seat took a violent turn when a 54-year-old man was beaten to death by unidentified persons outside the Jagatpura railway station in the city on Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Chandresh Meena from Bassi near Jaipur, worked as a cab driver for the electricity department, DCP (East) Gyan Chandra Yadav said.
“Our preliminary investigation suggested that a dispute over a seat led to a confrontation between the victim and the unidentified accused while they were on the train. After the victim got down from the train, the accused allegedly attacked and killed him,” he said.

Police handed over the body to the family after conducting the post-mortem at Jaipuria Hospital. They are now examining the CCTV cameras installed nearby to nab the culprits.
Yadav said that the victim, a native of Jhar village in Bassi, was attacked while leaving the Jagatpur station. “It appears that the victim was leaving the railway station after his companions went in different directions. One of the accused then contacted other individuals via phone and together attacked him,” he said.
Police suspect the accused arrived on a bike and attacked the victim with sticks. After leaving him bleeding, the culprits fled. A team from Jawahar Circle Police Station reached after receiving information and took Meena to a hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.
