Jaipur: Opposing notices sent by JMC-Greater for alleged illegal constructions, traders from nine market associations of Mansarovar Madhyam Marg took out a protest march and shut down the market till 2pm on Monday.
Except for medicines and essential items, all shops were closed.
Sanganer MLA Ashok Lahoty joined the rally with the traders, who are now planning to approach the courts. The traders are claiming that their side of arguments were not presented properly before the court. Traders said the land use of Madhyam Marg was ordered for mixed use in 2014 by the civic body.
“Thousands of traders joined the protest on Monday and a mega rally was taken out protesting against the notice issued by JMC-Greater. We will present our position in the high court and also reply to the notice given by JMC-Greater. We have been working here since years without any objections. This order affects thousands of traders in the region and we will try to resolve the issue,” said Manoj Pandey of Sadbhavna Vyapar Mandal.
On Wednesday, JMC-Greater administration sent notices to over 460 families in Mansarovar Madhyam Marg to remove illegal constructions within seven days as per the instructions of the HC. TNN
