Jaipur-delhi Highway To Be Over By Dec-jan: Gadkari | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Union minister Nitin Gadkari informed that the Union government is building three green-field highways passing through Rajasthan worth Rs 41,000 crore, bringing a landscape change to the poll-bound state. He was speaking at a press conference held at the BJP Media Center in Jaipur on Friday.
“The ongoing Delhi-Jaipur Highway will be completed by December-January, giving a boost to trade and tourism,” said Gadkari, who added that construction of the ambitious Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway connecting three refineries in the country is set to be completed within its set guidelines.The Delhi-Jaipur highway has been pending for years due to litigation and technical issues.
Highlighting the impact of the Union government’s social welfare schemes, he said, “Over five crore families in India were given permanent houses, including 20 lakh families in Rajasthan. More than 12 crore toilets were built in the country, and 83 lakh families got toilets in Rajasthan. In addition, 40 lakh families receive financial aid under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.”
Claiming that the country is set to become the third largest economy in the world, he said, “India has emerged as an economic powerhouse in the world, and we are working to create self-reliance with a target of a 5 trillion dollar economy.”
Recalling his contribution to resolving the water problem in the state, he said, “When I was the water resources minister, we started the Lakhwar Multi-Purpose Project, which was worth Rs 5,747 crore. Former CM Vasundhara Raje visited me to resolve the issues pending for 40 years. The project involves water supply to five states, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. Of the 26 such issues, we have resolved 19 of them.”
