Rshaa: Hospitals Told To Raise Capacity To 30 Beds For Chiranjeevi Benefits | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Private hospitals with a capacity of fewer than 30 beds will continue to provide benefits of Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme (CHIS) as Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency (RSHAA) has extended the deadline from May 31 to July 15 for such hospitals to increase their bed capacity to 30. They will be left out of the scheme if they do not.
Under the ‘revision in bed criteria’ for empanelment of hospitals under the Chiranjeevi scheme, private hospitals have been asked to increase their bed capacity as per the new bed criteria by July 15, said officials. Patients visiting private hospitals with fewer than 30 beds empanelled under the scheme will continue to get the benefit of free treatment under the scheme till July 31, they added.
These orders were issued by the joint CEO of RSHAA, Gaurav Saini, following the instructions of the additional chief secretary (health), Shubhra Singh.
On June 20, 2022, RSHAA had issued an order that mentioned that “hospitals already empanelled under the scheme but do not have 30 beds will have to upgrade their facilities to 30 beds before June 1, 2023, to stay eligible for empanelment under the scheme.” RSHAA had given a year’s time for the hospitals to increase the bed capacity as per the new norms.”
Upon acquiring 30 beds, a hospital has to intimate RSHAA and get its status updated. As per the RSHAA order, hospitals that fail to do so by July 15 will automatically stand ineligible to work under the scheme.
As per the notification issued by State Health Assurance Agency (RSHAA), in districts where 15 or more hospitals have been empanelled under the scheme, the minimum bed criteria for hospital empanelment would be 30 beds irrespective of its location – district headquarters town or elsewhere in the district.
