Jaipur/Barmer: A special drive was carried out by Rajasthan police on Sunday in all its ranges and districts to nab criminals on the instructions of Director General of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra.
“Operation Vajra Prahar” was monitored by the range IGs and led by SPs. Action continued till late on Sunday evening as senior officers at the police headquarters were in touch with IGs and SPs to get outcome of the operation. “The operation has been conducted in the state under the supervision of ADG (crime) Dinesh MN. All the IGs were monitoring the action in their range,” Mishra said.
Dinesh said, “In Bikaner range, 322 teams comprising 1,727 policemen raided at 1,623 places and arrested nearly 181 persons related to various crimes including NDPS Act, Arms Act and Gambling Act.”
He said searches were carried out at hideouts of the criminals in Jaipur too where 5,950 places were raided. “931 people were taken in custody, out of which 733 accused were arrested for various crimes,” he said.
Similar raids were conducted in Barmer, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Jodhpur, Pali, Sirohi, Udaipur and other districts.
