Museum: ‘design Of Gandhi Vatika Set To Enlighten Visitors On Bapu’s Life’ |

Jaipur: The Gandhi Vatika—a museum on Mahatma Gandhi inside the Central Park in Jaipur—would be one of its kind, claimed Kumar Prasant, chairperson of Gandhi Peace Foundation, on Wednesday. Chief minister Ashok Gehlot is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the museum on September 23.
“Every museum on Mahatma Gandhi that you visit, you find the same series of photos of Gandhiji. To be honest, you cannot get exclusive photos of Mahatma Gandhi. This museum, though, would be different as we are not focusing on showcasing photos or artefacts related to the life of Gandhi but on designing the museum in a way that it enlightens visitors on the life of Gandhi,” said Kumar, who has conceptualised the museum project.
The museum would come up in a building of three floors where one floor would be in the basement. The three floors would have different sections to highlight different aspects of the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
“The most interesting piece of the building is its design. It has been designed in a way that the overall height remains lower than the heights of the adjacent trees, so that it looks like a vatika. Hence, the name, Gandhi Vatika,” added Kumar.
