1-km ‘gandhi Paths’ Set To Be Built In Each Gram Panchayat | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Panchayati Raj and rural development minister Ramesh Chand Meena on Thursday said one-km-long ‘Gandhi paths’ would be developed in every gram panchayat of the state.
Preparation of guidelines for different types of works was being considered at the state level, said Meena in his address to district and block-level officials at a three-day state-level workshop at Indira Gandhi Institute of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development. The workshop discussed ways to improve the model design, estimate and quality of MGNREGA works.
“Although model estimates will be prepared at the state level, different situations prevail in different parts of the state. So it is necessary to take into account local conditions in engineering works,” he said.
Meena further said engineers must keep in mind the cost of construction, design, use, feasibility, survival and comparability of material cost so that maximum quality could be ensured.
He also said model parks should be developed in some of the bigger gram panchayats.“These parks should have running tracks, fruit plants, toilets, seating arrangements and fencing etc,” said Meena.
