‘no Rule To Exclude Outsiders From Appearing In Competitive Exams’ | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Education minister B D Kalla on Tuesday told the House that about 30 to 40 per cent of questions related to Rajasthan’s culture, history and geography are included in the state’s competitive examinations so that local candidates can get advantage in recruitments.
Kalla in response to a supplementary question informed that only 1.05 per cent of candidates from outside were selected in Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) exams and 0.90 per cent in the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) exams held in the last 10 years from 2012 till now. He said there is no provision for excluding outsiders from participating in competitive exams.
Kalla said local languages of Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat are recognised, while Rajasthani language is not recognised. He said the proposal for recognition of Rajasthani language is under consideration. So far no action has been taken on this.
Kalla while replying to a written question of MLA Vasudev Devnani said at present there is no provision for separate reservations for local people in recruitments.
He informed there is a provision to fill 64 per cent of the total vacancies for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Extremely Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections of the state from local residents of Rajasthan only. Apart from this, there is a provision to fill the ex-servicemen whose reservation is horizontal, from the local residents.
