Non-Practice Allowance: Raj Vets On Strike Over Non-practice Allowance |

Jaipur: The veterinary doctors across Rajasthan have gone on strike for indefinite period over demand for the benefit of Non-Practice Allowance (NPA).
The Veterinary Doctors’ Association, Rajasthan, has stated that they have boycotted all types of work from September 18.
Around 2,300 veterinary doctors have gone on strike across the state.
“We just have one demand—NPA. We had a talk with the state health secretary and informed him about the protest. The Kamadhenu insurance scheme is good but there is limited manpower in the vet department. If we have to go todoorstep to provide the facilities, it is not benefitting us from any angle. Firstly, it is time consuming as well as costs more. Just to ensure that farmers can avail the scheme, we will have to burn our fuel and govt is not paying us for extra work,” president of the association Dr Indrajit Singh said.
The association explained that they are not against the scheme nor its implementation.
It is expected that around 1 crore cattle will be insured in the state under Kamadhenu scheme.
Veterinary doctors feel that if they are made to work under the Kamdhenu scheme in addition to their daily work, then the government should give them additional daily allowance. tnn
