Notorious Chain Snatcher Held | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Karni Vihar police on Tuesday arrested a notorious 39-year-old chain snatcher involved in 29 thefts in affluent residential areas of Jaipur.
ACP (Vaishali Nagar) Alok Kumar Saini said police scanned nearly 400 CCTVs across the city and arrested the accused identified as Mukesh Soni, a resident of Nagaur.
“We have also arrested the person, Babosa Shankar, who purchased stolen gold chains from Soni,” he said.
Saini said Soni was one of the most wanted chain snatchers of Jaipur. “Our teams had only a few clues about the accused, which was his blue bike. Our teams fanned out in different directions in pursuit of the accused,” he said.
Police said the accused had been arrested eight times in the past. “He had walked out of the prison only in January. After walking out of the prison, he began working in his ancestral shop for a few weeks,” Saini said, adding that the accused again ventured into snatching chains to clear debts for his family.
As per Saini, the accused looted nine chains in the past two months alone. “After each loot, he would return back to his native village in the Nagaur district,” he said.tnn
