Nsg Commando Among 3 Held For Attacking Power Dept Team | Jaipur News
Jaipur: A team of Ajeetgarh police in Sikar on Tuesday arrested three persons, including an NSG commando, for an alleged assault and attempt to murder case.
The accused had opened fire on a vigilance team of electricity department on Monday evening when the team was returning after registering a case of power theft. One technical assistant was injured in the firing.
Police was stunned when they found that the accused Surendra Gurjar is a NSG commando posted at Manesar. “It was also found that prior to this case, these persons had gone to a wedding on Saturday where they had stopped a person, vandalised his vehicle and thrashed him,” he added.
Police have arrested them on the charges of attempt to murder, assault and for violation of Arms Act.
According to police, a vigilance team of electricity comprising six persons, including engineers and technicians, was returning from a village after registering a case of power theft.
“As they were returning in government vehicle, four persons who were standing on the road asked them to stop. They asked about the credentials of the team. Later, they started abusing them and slapped and manhandled them. Realising that they were all drunk, the driver drove away from the spot,” said Karan Sharma, superintendent of police, Sikar.
Sharma said, the accused also chased the officials for almost 20km and opened three rounds of firing.
“Gajendra Singh Meena (40), a technical assistant who was sitting on the back seat of vehicle, sustained a bullet injury on the wrist. Later, the accused managed to flee,” Sharma added.
Later, the officials informed the police. “We constituted a team and tracked the movement of the vehicle in which the assailants were moving.
On Tuesday, we arrested three persons identified as Sachin Gurjar (22), Surendra Gurjar (31) and Kanaram (23). The fourth accused is Vikram Gurjar (26) who is on the run,” he added.
