JAIPUR: BJP legislature party leader Bhajan Lal Sharma will take oath for the post of chief minister on his 57th birthday on Friday, in the presence of by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president J P Nadda, defence minister Rajnath Singh, home minister Amit Shah and other central ministers and dignitaries at a grand function here at Albert Hall
Apart from the chief minister, his two deputies, Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, will also take oath, according to officials.The three will be administered the oath by Governor Kalraj Mishra at 12.05pm.
Preparations were in full swing at Ramniwas Bagh with shamianas being erected in front of the majestic Albert Hall for the swearing-in function. Sharma’s parents in his native village in Bharatpur district are also being brought in to attend the function.
The state government has extended invitations to all MPs, MLAs, zila pramukhs, pradhans, mayors and chairpersons of municipal bodies for the function. It is expected that about 10,000 people will attend the swearing-in at the venue.
MLAs, BJP workers, officials, and the common man continued to throng the power department guest house on Thursday, which has been converted into a temporary residence for the chief minister-designate.
Officials said the entry of tourists will remain closed at the Albert Hall for two days-Thursday and Friday. Tight strict security blankets around the entire area are in place with the SPG taking over the area.
A glimpse of PM Modi’s guarantees will also be seen in the swearing-in function through the huge LED monitors installed at different points. Special counters have been set up at the venue for BJP flags, hoarding, posters and banners highlighting all the public welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The main roads leading up to the state capital have been decorated with BJP flags, cut-outs of leaders, and posters and banners of various welfare schemes of the Centre.
Sharma, a first-time MLA, was announced as the chief minister-designate during a BJP legislature party meeting on last Tuesday, in the presence of the party’s central observers Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey and Vinod Tawde.
Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA Diya Kumari and Dudu MLA Bairwa were picked as deputy chief ministers and Ajmer North MLA Vasudev Devnani as the Speaker of the Assembly.
