Jaipur: Chairman of National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) Hansraj Gangaram Ahir issued directions to state government officials to increase the number of OBC hostels, OBC students being provided Ambedkar DBT vouchers, and to achieve targets under the Anuprati scheme.
Ahir said complete information about issuing OBC certificates in TSP areas should be made available and a questionnaire with information should be compiled and sent to the commission within 15 days.
Social justice and empowerment secretary Samit Sharma urged the commission, on behalf of the state government, to demand an increase in the budget share from the Centre for central scholarship and loan grant schemes for the OBC category. Ahir expressed satisfaction over efforts made by the state government to ensure reservation for backward classes. TNN
