Organic Farming: Govt’s Organic Farming Plan At District Level |

Jaipur: To boost organic farming in the state, the Rajasthan government has decided to go to the grassroots to encourage it, by setting up district-level certification units and testing labs.
The government also has decided to roll out subsidies to organic farmers. Earlier this year, chief minister Ashok Gehlot had announced converting about 1.20 lakh hectare of agricultural land into organic farming area and provide organic seeds, bio-fertilizers and pesticides to the farmers which would cost about Rs 23.57 crore.
As per officials from the agriculture department, the decision to set up district level certification units and testing labs has been taken so that the farmers can easily avail the government subsidies. The farmers can now undertake marketing and certification of organic products in a time-bound manner.
