Organised Gangs: Won’t Let Hry, Other Raj Gangs To Make City Their Den: Joseph | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The newly appointed police commissioner of Jaipur Biju George Joseph said on Tuesday that crime pattern of the city has changed from the days he worked as SP (Jaipur East), additional commissioner of police and officiating police commissioner.

Admitting that organised gangs of other states are trying to make Jaipur a soft target for extorting businessmen, Joseph said that his priority would be to curb organised crime.
TOI spoke to Joseph and the new ADG (law and order) Anand Srivastava to know about their plan of action.

Joseph said, “My message is loud and clear to them. Do whatever you want to do, but not in Jaipur. I will not make the Haryana gangs and other state gangs to make the city as their next territory.”
Joseph said, with fluctuating population in Jaipur and its expansion, the crime has increased.
“Timely prosecution is the best prevention. I will ensure to nip the problem in the bud,” he added.
Joseph said, “Also curbing cybercrime would be a challenging task. But combating the cybercrime involving and representing women and child indecently would be another priority,” he added.
Joseph said, “Let me first take charge and have meeting with my men, you will see the difference in next fortnight.”
Outgoing police commissioner Srivastava, a 1994-batch IPS officer, was busy in handling the BJP’s protest.
“For any law and order issue, the timely and prompt response of the police is the key to ensure whatever has happened should not flare up further. My responsibility is to ensure timely response to law and order issues and during this course I will tell my men not to fight on jurisdiction issues in matters of law and order and make collective efforts,” he added.
Srivastava said district police would be asked to consolidate their cyber police station and keep a track on posts on the social media to act on time whenever any inflammatory or derogatory message is posted.
“In this era of e-revolution when everyone has a good quality smartphone, our police are also expected to keep a track on social media activities. If anything that can disturb harmony and create law and order, proactive action is expected from them,” he added.
