Pensioners Decry Lack Of Uniformity | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Days after chief minister Ashok Gehlot released social security pensions to all beneficiaries in the state, pensioners protesting at Ram Leela Maidan said the pension amounts beneficiaries receive are not uniform.
They said some beneficiaries received Rs 500 while some others got Rs 1,000 while some eligible beneficiaries are not receiving any pension. Other issues they raised included glitches in bank account numbers, poor implementation of the pension scheme in rural areas, delay due to documentation, etc.
Rani, a protester who came from Dungarpur, said her relatives had a fake death certificate issued for her husband due to a family feud, and no action has been taken despite her complaining to the authorities several times.
“I have been complaining to officials so that I get the benefit of the scheme, but no action has been taken. I have come here hoping that I will get some relief,” said Rani.
Another protester, Kamla from Bhilwara, said even after the pension being increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000, she is not getting any. “The pension amount has been increased but suitable changes seem to have not been made in the records,” she said.
