JAIPUR: Water supply in the city will be affected on Thursday as the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) will repair a leak in the main pipeline through which drinking water is sent to the city from Bisalpur Dam.
“A scour wall of the main pipe has leaked. We are compelled to shut water transfer from Surajpura pump house in Bisalpur to our main storage facility at Balwala in Sanganer from 10am to 6pm. This might affect evening water supply in Jaipur,” said RC Meena, additional chief engineer of PHED (Jaipur zone).
According to the engineers, areas such as Pratap Nagar, Sanganer, Mansarovar, Sindhi Colony, Adarsh Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Jhotwara, Shyam Nagar, Barkat Nagar and Civil Lines will be the worst-hit.
