Pilot refrains from announcing newparty, takes subtle swipe at Gehlot | Jaipur News

DAUSA: Speculations regarding deputy CM Sachin Pilot breaking away from the Congress and forming a new party on his father’s death anniversary were laid to rest on Sunday after the party leader stated that the occasion was not appropriate for political deliberations.
He, however, reassured unwavering support to his followers and of standing resolutely by his commitments.
Pilot was speaking after unveiling the statue of Rajesh Pilot in Dausa. He also took subtle digs at CM Ashok Gehlot, former BJP CM Vasundhara Raje, and the central government.
Gehlot had recently dismissed Pilot’s demand of compensating students affected by paper leaks as a sign of “mental bankruptcy”, which PM Narendra Modi had used to suggest that the Congress policies could lead to “bankruptcy” during his visit to Ajmer.
In his speech, Pilot took on both Gehlot and the central government, saying, “When we provide assistance to the underprivileged, the central government claims it will lead to financial bankruptcy, and when I support the youth, they assert it will result in mental bankruptcy. One must have compassion to aid those less fortunate, particularly the youth, with a genuine and generous spirit. We have the resources to support them.”
In reference to scandals during the Vasundhara Raje government, Pilot reiterated that he had consistently opposed the former BJP government during his tenure as PCC chief on a daily basis. He claimed that he never made any false accusations but demanded an investigation when the mining allocations were revoked. “If the mines were allotted and later cancelled, there should be an inquiry,” he said.
Taking a dig at Gehlot’s statement that every mistake demands punishment, he said, “Someone has rightly said that every mistake demands punishment. The greatest justice is administered by God. If justice is not served today, it will undoubtedly be served tomorrow.”
Assuring his supporters, Pilot said, “I am not going to back down from the issues I have raised… For me, the credibility of the public is the greatest asset. I have never done anything to diminish this trust. I will not let you down.”
“Regardless of the circumstances, I was committed to fight for you and pursue justice yesterday, and it’s so today and will remain tomorrow. Communication is crucial in politics. Rajesh Pilot has taught us to speak candidly, without compromising truth and honesty even in challenging situations. It is by God’s grace that what my soul speaks and echoes the voice of the public,” he stated, emphasising that there should be no corruption in politics.
“If you don’t have hopes for the future, you don’t feel like working hard. There should be no place for corrupt people and corruption in politics in Rajasthan and the country. I have been in politics for 20 years, and I have always worked to improve the future of the youth. The power of my voice comes from the people of Dausa,” he said.
