Poll Expenses: Cong Launched Schemes To Meet Poll Expenses: Sarma |

Kota: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday alleged Congress governments have an established practice of launching distribution schemes months before elections to collect money to meet their electoral expenses.
Sarma was addressing a public meeting on the conclusion of Parivartan Sankalp Yatra at Hadauti here on Thursday.
During his address at the Ummed Singh stadium, Sarma also expressed gratitude to the people of Kota and acknowledged the contribution of Rajasthanis in Assam.
Sarma said fuel prices were higher in Rajasthan in comparison to Assam. “Looting money from people through higher petrol and diesel prices, commission from purchasing food packets and then launch free distribution schemes of food packets and mobiles is a Congress technique to woo voters,” the Assam CM said.
“I have been in Congress for 22 years and in every state before every election, the party brings out some distribution schemes and channelises these to meet election expenses,” CM Sarma alleged and added that the Annapurna food packets in Rajasthan were not meant for the poor but to fill up “someone’s pocket”.
